Cell phones help to relay messages
Coordination is a vital part of our everyday lives. Someone is always agreeing to meet somewhere, planning vacations, or organizing events. It is a necessity to be able to communicate with others in a timely fashion. Calling someone from a cell phone is a great way to do this. It can inform people what item needs to be bought, or inform your children that you are on your way home (Ling 61, 71, 74).

Cell phones can be used almost anywhere
Cell phones also help to keep track of time. Respect for time, promptness, and tardiness have become part of our manners (Ling 67). If you are going to be late for an appointment, you can call ahead and inform and apologize to the other party. This helps to show respect and make clear that you value others.
